ABOUT
"So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything,
but only God, who makes things grow."
- 1 Corinthians 3:7
As a writer, Victoria loves getting to watch a story sprout and develop: stalk stretching upward, buds flowering, roots inching deeper into secret, unseen places. There is a lot of humility in knowing that, if she wants the real thing, all she can really do is water and tend—the rest is an honest-to-goodness miracle. "So neither the one who plants nor the one who waters is anything, but only God, who makes things grow." - 1 Corinthians 3:7

Victoria has worked in a flower shop and a music store; as a primary school teacher, an overnight baker, and manager of the night shift at a bookshop. She began her first job with the public library a few short months after meeting her future husband, Michael. The two now share three children, a fondness for forest rambles, and a home near Lake Simcoe in Central Canada.

"In her enchanting debut novel,
Victoria Murgante offers a story of beauty and substance about knowing and being known, exploring the value of true intimacy, and the costly grace that makes it possible."
